UPDATE (1:15 PM eastern time, Aug. 7, 2017): This story has been updated to include comment from Sabo.
A conservative artist in California has a new subject of his controversial street art: Mark Zuckerberg.
Amongst rumors of a potential Mark Zuckerberg presidential run, new “Fuck Zuck 2020” art has begun springing up in California, according to The American Mirror. It’s the latest installment in political firebrand Sabo’s art and apparel collection.
On his website, unsavoryagents.com, Sabo is selling posters and stickers branded with the slogan. And on the company’s Facebook page, several photos have been posted showing posters with “Fuck Zuck 2020” being displayed around Pasadena.
In an email, Sabo said the art is the first installment of a new series: “Things to do while in Facebook Jail.” He said the idea came to him during the eleventh day of his latest 30-day block from Facebook.
“This story will no doubt cost me my account but if anything that will solidify why I’d hate the thought of Zuckerberg being President,” he said.
He said he pictures Zuckerberg “moving his trusted band of social justice warrior employees into the White House to begin oppressing everyone who doesn’t think the way they do.”
Additionally, Sabo said he worked in startups in the late 90s and 2000s, and called it “soul-crushing work.”
“The thought of the King of Startups might one day run this country is more than I want to nightmare over,” he said.
Sabo is known for politically-charged pieces, including posters celebrating President Donald Trump’s inauguration that were modeled after Fox’s show 24, according to The Hollywood Reporter. On his website, Sabo also has artwork and merchandise that takes aim at political figures like Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and Wendy Davis.
Zuckerberg has been at the center of plenty of rumors regarding the 2020 presidential election, which is probably why he’s the latest subject at the center of Sabo’s art.
Zuck reportedly hired the chief strategist for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential run, Joel Benenson, leading more people to believe the internet entrepreneur may be gunning for a presidential bid in 2020. Benenson was hired to work for the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative the philanthropic organization run by Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan.
A political super PAC, Disrupt for America, is also hard at work to get Zuckerberg to run for the presidency. Online sports betting website Bovada puts Zuckerbergs at 33-1 odds for a 2020 win. And despite all of this, Zuckerberg maintains that he definitely is not running for president.
Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
